I started orienteering in 1987, and found that the combination of mental and physical effort required suited me quite well. I joined Reading Orienteering Club (later to become Berkshire Orienteers), and have stayed with them ever since, serving on the Committee as Secretary from 1996 to 2000 and as Membership Secretary from 2004 to 2007. I have entered a number of overseas orienteering events in Sweden, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Portugal, culminating in the 2002 Swedish O-Ringen, the world's largest such event.
More recently, I have concentrated on urban orienteering, including the London City Race, the Venice orienteering event and the City Race Euro Tour.
You can see a few photos of various events here.
I have written various pieces of orienteering-related software over the years, but the only one still relevant is the Performance Analysis Spreadsheet.
